Mohammed meets economy ministers

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday met with ministers of economy, trade and investment of a number of Arab, Muslim and other countries who are participating in the Fifth Annual Investment Meeting (AIM 2015)

Seventy-six ministers and more than 7,000 business people, investors and representatives of international organisations are participating in the two-day event which started on Monday.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the ministers to the UAE and wished them success for their forum in efforts to encourage mutual investments in the public and private sectors to promote development, create jobs for youth in the Arab region and the third-world countries.

He emphasised that the UAE, and Dubai in particular, is open to all foreign investments, including those from Arab countries, and that it provides all government and logistic facilities to attract investments that boost the economy of developing countries, serve their peoples and reflect positively on the global economy and the well-being of humanity.

The meeting, which took place at the World Trade Centre, was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs; Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department.

The visiting ministers thanked Sheikh Mohammed for hosting the annual forum and hailed the UAE as a safe and rich haven for foreign investments.

They noted that investments and capitals are protected in the UAE by world-class legislation and laws, and benefit from the advanced infrastructure.

They also noted that countries in the region can benefit from the UAE's experience in this field.

The theme of the fifth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting is focused on ‘Sustainable Development through FDI-Induced Innovation and Technology Transfer’.
 
Gen. Mohamed congratulates on Prince Bishop's Dubai World Cup 2015 win


General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent a congratulatory cable to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on horse Prince Bishop winning the 20th edition of the Dubai World Cup 2015.

General Mohamed underscored that the win is a new achievement of the UAE in international events.

He also wished Sheikh Mohammed good luck in his efforts to further develop, achieve excellence and lead the pioneering march in the service of the precious homeland.

General Mohamed also dispatched a similar congratulatory cable to Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, on the same occasion, wishing him good luck and success, as well as for accomplishing further achievements in various domains in the national and international events.

MBRSG graduation ceremony

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) on Monday marked the graduation of four batches of students in a ceremony at the World Trade Centre in Dubai in the presence and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The graduation ceremony coincided with the 10th anniversary of the MBRSG.

Those present at the ceremony included Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MBRSG; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department, as well as members of the Board of Trustees of the MBRSG.

Gargash hailed the vision of Sheikh Mohammed who launched the school in 2005 to be the first-of-its-kind research and teaching institution the Arab region to focus on governance, public policy, build future government leaders and improve higher education programmes and research and studies.

Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of the MBRSG, noted that the school aims to serve and promote effective public policy by focussing on applied research and engaging the public and private sectors in the process of development to serve the region through its unique academic programmes.

To date, some 3,000 leaders from the UAE and other Arab countries have graduated from MBRSG.

Seventy-five students obtained master’s degrees in public administration from the school.

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed urged the youth to develop their skills through continuous training, research, study and accumulating experience to become efficient future leaders.

Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday visited the Third Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

During his tour of the show, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs; and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol and Hospitality Department. 

He was briefed by Secretary-General of Dubai Executive Council, Abdullah Al Shaibani, on the participations which are supported by Sheikh Mohammed to achieve his Dubai Plan 2021 and shift to smart government in line with UAE Vision 2021.

Sheikh Mohammed hailed the organisation of the exhibition as a platform to promote government achievements among the public and introduce the facilities and streamlined services.

Thirty-two government departments are participating in the three-day show being organised by Dubai Executive Council and Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
