Mohammed meets media personalities, top officials

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met at the Dubai World Trade Center a number of media personalities and heads of local government departments.

Sheikh Mohammed exchanged Ramadan greetings with the attendants who wished the UAE more progress and stability under the country's wise leadership.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of coordinating efforts of media and government departments which constitute the key source of local news to keep the public opinion informed about the country's achievements and to reflect its image worlwide.

He praised the efforts of the Media Office Dubai Government in providing channels of communication with national and international media. He also underlined the harmony among different components of the UAE media organisations.

Director General of the Media Office of Dubai Government Ahmed Abdullah Al Shaikh thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his keenness to meet with media personalities and to provide them with necessary facilities to perform their duties.

 

Mohammed reshuffles Meydan City Corporation's board


The board of directors of Meydan City Corporation has been reshuffled by a new decree by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Decree No.10/2012 appointed Saeed Humaid Al Tayer as Chairman of the Board with Ahmad Al Shaikh as Vice Chairman of the Board. Malih Lahej Al Basti and two representatives of the Dubai Equestrian Club and the Dubai Racing Club, both to be named by the clubs, were appointed as members of the board.
 
The term of the board is three years renewable, according to the decree.
 
The decree is of immediate effective and will be published in the official gazette.
 
Meydan City Corporation oversees the development of the United Arab Emirates' new iconic horseracing development. It will feature a world-class grandstand, and will serve as a major business and conference district.
