Mohammed opens FNC session

On behalf of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday opened the fourth ordinary session of the 15th legislative chapter.

The opening ceremony began with Sheikh Mohammed's arrival at the headquarters of the Federal National Council, accompanied by Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC).

After inspecting the guard of honour and the playing of the national anthem of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, deputy rulers, and sheikhs made his way to Zayed Hall where the session was convened.

Sheikh Mohammed opened the fourth ordinary session of the 15th legislative chapter, where he greeted the FNC Speaker and members, highlighting the fact that the FNC's role is represented in serving the homeland and its citizens, and in establishing cooperative bridges between the FNC and the government for furthering the interests of the UAE and its citizens.

Also, Sheikh Mohammed called upon the FNC Speaker and members to perform their national duty honestly and faithfully to preserve the country and provide security and stability for all citizens.

Al Murr then delivered his speech, in which he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Sheikh Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed as well as their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, for their continued support and their enthusiasm in ensuring the success of FNC's work for the benefit of the country and citizens.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai,  Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman,  Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah,  Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, along with a number of Sheikhs, Ministers, military and police leaders in the state, as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State.

Later , Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid read out a Decree by Sheikh Khalifa convening the Council.
 
The Decree stated: "The Federal National Council is called to convene its fourth ordinary session of the 15th legislative chapter on the morning of Sunday  October 26, 2014.
 
This Decree is of immediate effect and shall be published in the Official Gazette."
 
The following is the full text of the remarks of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa:
 
"Your Highnesses the Crown Princes,  Your Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers, Your Excellencies the Members of the Federal National Council,
 
“Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
 
“In the name of Allah and with His help, today we are opening the fourth ordinary session of the 15th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council.
 
“We hope that you will succeed in tackling the issues of the nation and nationals with full integrity and responsibility as you seek to protect the experience of the Federation, the foundations of which were laid by the nation's founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his brothers, the other founding fathers, and to which all the men and women of the nation have contributed sincere work and efforts at their workplaces at different levels.
 
“We pray to Allah Almighty to grant us success and lead our steps on the straight path and enable us to make our people happy and protect our State and the gains it has made.
 
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh."

Mohammed attends Dubai Int’l Endurance City Ride CEN 100 Km

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the Dubai International Endurance City Ride (CEN) 100km, held in Saih Al Salam yesterday.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed to the race was Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The race, held in the Dubai International Endurance City in Saih Al Salam, saw the participation of 91 riders representing various private stables in the country competing for luxury cars and hefty cash prizes.

The rider Saif Ahmed Al Mazrooei won the top position of the endurance race, riding “Zelzaal” for S.S. Stables, finishing the race in 3:47:11 hours; while Abdulla Mubarak Rashid Al Khaili finished the race in 3:47:50, mounting Abrojo. The third place was claimed by Saeed Mohamed Al Jaber Al Marri, who finished in 3:55:02, mounting John De La Patrol.

Concluding the race, Vice-Chairman of Dubai Equestrian Club Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, along with Secretary-General of Emirates Equestrian Federation Taleb Dhaher Al Muhairi and Deputy General Manager of Dubai Equestrian Club Mohammed Al Adhab presented the awards to the three winners. Amid the applause of the audience, owner Sultan Al Suboosi receive the winner’s trophy from Secretary General of Emirates Equestrian Federation Taleb Dhaher Al Muhairi.

Deputy General Manager of Dubai Equestrian Club Mohammed Al Adhab expressed appreciation the continues support of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed to the endurance races at Saih Al Salam as well as for preserving and promoting horse racing games which form an indispensable part of the UAE’s cultural heritage.

Mohammed allocates Dh680m for Al Barsha Housing Project

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the allocation of Dh680 million to the fourth, fifth and sixth phases of the national housing project – Al Barsha South First, including 626 houses.

The move comes as part of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's keenness to ensure decent living conditions for citizens in Dubai and achieve family stability in line with his vision that puts human comfort and happiness at the forefront of developmental priorities.

Sami Abdullah Gargash, Chief Executive of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, said,  "The company is eager to implement the Ruler of Dubai's generous residential projects."

These, he said, will provide beneficiaries with modern and suitable housing to meet their requirements, and ensure maximum comfort and stability.
