Mohammed receives British Prime Minister

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received this afternoon at his palace in Zabeel the visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron and his accompanying delegation.

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, were also present.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and Cameron held talks on ways to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between the two friendly countries. They also took stock of the current political and security situation in the Middle East amid the backdrop of political transformations the Arab World is currently undergoing.

The talks also tackled conditions of the British community in the UAE where Mr. Cameron expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed for the care the UAE leadership as well as the official and non-official circles lend to the British companies operating in the UAE and to the members of the British community.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State.

Also present were Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Court of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, Abdulrahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and Dominic Jermey, British Ambassador to the UAE.

Mohammed receives Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received on Monday at Zabeel Palace Sir John Peace, Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank.

The meeting, which took place in the attendance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, discussed a broad range of economic, financial and investment issues in relevant to the bank's operations in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the convening of the bank's board meeting in Dubai for the first time, a move he said would boost confidence of international financial firms in the UAE, in general, and Dubai, in particular.

He said concerned authorities in Dubai would provide every possible assistance to attract companies that ''find in our country the attractive, fertile ground for their investment''.

Sir Peace thanked Sheikh Mohammed and Dubai government for the assistance and facilities they provide to the bank.
