Mohammed receives Presidents of Burundi, Kenya, Mali and Senegal

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attends Third Africa-Arab Summit in Kuwait (Wam)

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Pierre Nkurunziza, President of the Republic of Burundi, today, on the sidelines of the Third Africa- Arab Summit, which is being held in Kuwait.

Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Burundi in a number of areas, particularly in sustainable energy projects, tourism and infrastructure.

The Burundian President expressed his country's desire to build bridges of cooperation between the two countries and the possibility that his country can benefit from the experience of the UAE and its successful experience in these sectors, which Burundi seeks to develop to benefit from the experience of the United Arab Emirates.

The Burundian President also explained the potential available for investment in his country, especially in the mining sector and natural resources.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the idea of opening new channels of communication with Burundi and assist in the development of its infrastructure and achieve its sustainable development.

On the sideline of the Summit, Sheikh Mohammed also received Mackey Sall, the Senegalese President, when they exchanged views on ways to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Senegal.

The Senegalese President expressed his hopes to develop prospects of cooperation between the two countries so as to include the fields of infrastructure, investment and tourism.

Sheikh Mohammed also received Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, Representative of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, the head of delegation to the summit.

At the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed And Al Said exchanged cordial talks about the fraternal relations between the two countries.

The meeting also addressed a number of issues related to the Third Africa- Arab Summit.

The meetings was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, the Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Deputy Permanent Representative of the UAE to the League of Arab States and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai. 

Mohammed bin Rashid receives Presidents of Kenya and Mali

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received at Bayan Palace, Kuwait, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, on the sidelines of the Third Afro-Arab Summit, which is being held in Kuwait.

Sheikh Mohammed and Kenyatta exchanged views on the overall political and economic developments in Kenya and reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic, investment and services aspects.

The Kenyan President expressed his country's desire to develop the infrastructure of Mombasa City in Kenya with the help of the Emirati expertise, pointing out the cultural boom that the UAE is witnessing in general and Dubai in particular. He also described Dubai as "An open City to all cultures and civilisations."

The Vice President received also Mali's President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. The meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries at all levels and ways to bolster them to include exchange of expertise, investment and modernising the infrastructure in Mali.

The Malian President extended thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for the humanitarian assistance the UAE provides for his country, pointing out to the effective contribution of the UAE in order to develop the educational and health sectors in Mali through aid and grants which reached $25 million.

 He also lauded the stances of the leadership, government and people of the UAE for providing aid to the third world countries, particularly in Africa.
Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior attended the two meetings.

During his meetings, Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that the UAE will avail all its human recourses energies, expertise and unique experience in the sustainable development with all its components and details to serve fraternal and friendly countries, especially those who have the ambition to achieve economic development and infrastructures as well as securing decent and cultural life for their people.

During the meetings with the Presidents, Sheikh Mohammed added "Our country likes the good, stability and economic welfare for people of these countries and those of other countries, as it wishes it for its people and has been working for that since the emergence of our modern state.''

The meetings were also attended by members of the accompanying delegation of Sheikh Mohammed, a number of ministers, top officials of the accompanying delegation to the Presidents of Mali and Kenya.
