Mohammed receives Qatar Crown Prince

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received on Tuesday at Zabeel Palace in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the visiting Crown Prince of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The meeting, which was attended by a number of senior officials, reviewed brotherly ties between the UAE and Qatar.

Earlier, Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Sheikh Tamim upon arrival at Dubai International Airport.

Mohammed tours Arablab, Wetex
 
Sheikh Mohammed took a tour of Arablab, the largest technology show for the latest lab and instrumentation equipment from the world's leading manufacturers in Dubai on Tuesday.

The show is being staged in parallel with the 13th Water, Energy, and Environment Exhibition 2011 (Wetex 2011) at Dubai International Convention Centre.

The event draws wide participation of local health agencies and over 700 Arab and international companies.

Sheikh Mohammed familiarised himself with the latest lab technology and industry on display.

At Wetex, Sheikh Mohammed made stops at the stands of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council, and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dewa, on the mega power and water projects on Dewa agenda.

Sheikh Mohammed viewed designs of the planned large-scale IWPP Hassyan power and seawater desalination complex. Hassyan complex will have installed capacity of 4,000 megawatts and 140 million imperial gallons a day.

Sheikh Mohammed said he was pleased with the hosting of such trade and scientific shows which, he added, would contribute to advancing processes of development and modernisation our state is witnessing in various sectors, in particular health, environment, electricity and water.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied during his tour by a number of top officials including Saeed Al Tayer and Qhadi Al Marooshid, Director General of Dubai Health Authority.
