Mohammed receives Saif, senior officials

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Za'abeel Palace this evening.

Sheikh Mohammed exchanged greetings with his guests on the holy month of Ramadan, in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum and Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan.
 
Sheikh Mohammed also exchanged Ramadan greetings with the Chief of Staff and officials from the UAE Armed Forces and Civil Defence Forces, as well as senior police officials and department heads from Naturalisation and Residency Department.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi and Commander General of Dubai Police Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim.

During his meeting with the senior officials, Sheikh Mohammed bestowed his blessings on them for the holy month, before wishing them further success and progress. Sheikh Mohammed stressed the vital role played by the armed, defence and police forces in ensuring peace and stability in the UAE.

Following the meeting Sheikh Mohammed hosted an Iftar banquet in honour of his guests, after which he performed Al Maghreb prayers.

Telethon for Africa

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed that Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) launch a media campaign to raise funds and charitable contributions to relieve the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

The media campaign will make use of DMI's various media outlets, including television channels, radio stations and press agencies to raise aid and awareness for the worthy cause.

DMI Director General Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh said that the two-day campaign will commence on Tuesday and run until Wednesday night on Noor Dubai TV, Noor Dubai Radio and Al Bayan.

Al Shaikh affirmed that Sheikh Mohammed's directives would be implemented accordingly to help the peoples of Somalia and the Horn of Africa and alleviate their suffering.

The director general said that DMI will use every possible resource to guarantee the success of the charitable and humanitarian drive under the banner, 'Save them'.
