An epic and dramatic stage presentation inspired by the poems of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will take place in 2016.
This is the first time poetry as basis for a theatre production of this size, expected to be the largest in the region, will take place.
An agreement between ‘Brand Dubai’, the creative arm of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai and the Rahbani production house was signed.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director-General of the Media Office, and Marwan Rahbani, Chairman of Rahbani Production, signed the agreement to stage the production in January 2016.
Mona Al Marri said, “This offers a special vision for the impressive collection of poems penned by Sheikh Mohammed.
“This work comes at a time when the Arab region is rippling with many challenges.
“We are associated with our heritage, culture and our values are authentic, which together constitute important elements to enhance the ability of people of the region to refute these challenges.”
