His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, toured the 32nd edition of the Gitex Technology Week at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday evening.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed on his tour were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, directors of government departments and senior officials.
 
His Highness stopped at several pavilions at the Gitex Technology Week 2012 representing top ICT companies from around the world showcasing the latest trends, opportunities and solutions most relevant to the regional and global business community.
 
Stopping at the UAE eGovernment pavilion at the event, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the ePortal dedicated to receive complaints, suggestions and enquiries about the GCC Common Market and Customs Union.
 
With an impressive record of more than 3,000 exhibitors from 54 countries, Gitex 2012 is considered an ideal platform to unveil new innovations, products and services.
 
Dubai eGovernment stand was the next stop for Sheikh Mohammed where he was briefed on the new electronic services offered by different government departments and the Human Resources Planning and Management System (HRPM).
 
Sheikh Mohammed also visited the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stand at Gitex and was informed on the new mobile services planned for launch in early 2013.
 
Concluding his tour in what is considered one of three main international ICT mega events, Sheikh Mohammed then stopped at the Abu Dhabi Government ePortal pavilion where he listened to a briefing on the services presented to the public
