His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited on Sunday morning a number of schools in Umm Al Qaiwain and Ajman.
The visit shows keenness of Sheikh Mohammed on sharing with the students their pleasure on the commencement of new academic year.
He was accompanied during the tour by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education; Lt. General Musbeh Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Office of the Vice-President and Prime Minister; Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director-General of Media Office of Government of Dubai; and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director of the Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.
In Umm Al Qaiwain, Director of Al Watan School welcomed the visit of the Vice-President, saying it would be a motivation to the teaching staff and students as well.
While visiting the school, Sheikh Mohammed talked to the students, teaching staff and mothers who brought their children to the school on the first day of the academic year. He wished them success all along to serve their communities and country.
The Vice-President also visited Al Amir Secondary School for Boys , where he exchanged views with the director and teaching staff on the curriculum and preparations for the commencement of academic year. He visited a number of classes and attended some classes with them. Sheikh Mohammed posed for photographs with the students.
In Ajman, Sheikh Mohammed visited Sheikh bint Saeed Model School for Girls, where he exchanged views with director of schools, teaching staff and mothers of students on the curriculum and preparations for the academic year. He attended some classes and posed for photographs with the students.
In Umm Ammar Primary School for Girls, Sheikh Mohammed met director of School, teaching staff and students, who welcomed him. The Vice President attended a computer class with the Grade 7 students. The computers were distributed to the students in line with the framework of the initiative of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the smart education in schools of the Ministry of Education.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted during his tour that the education was the basis for progress and pride among the nations, indicating the future of UAE lies in development of education, technology and practical training.
He appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Education under Al Qatami, citing the provision of books in time.
For his part, the minister of Education lauded the initiative of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to tour the schools to motivate the teaching staff and students, referring to the efforts of the UAE leadership on providing support to the educational process to upgrade the UAE among the developed countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,marked the start of the new academic year 2012-2013 on Sunday by attending the morning assembly of the Al Watan School in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain.
After the rendition of the UAE National Anthem at the school assembly, the Headmistress of Al Watan School delivered a speech welcoming His Highness to the school premises and considered the visit a unique motivation for students and the teaching faculty to excel in fulfilling their duties.
Sheikh Mohammed spoke with students, school faculty staff and parents who accompanied their children on the first day of the new academic year. His Highness encouraged students to excel in their early pursuit of knowledge highlighting their important role in shaping the future of their beloved homeland.
