Mohammed at Gulf Educational Exhibition

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday visited the Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition (GESS), held at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

Sheikh Mohammed toured various pavilions of the exhibition, where he was briefed about the latest educational technology and smart learning programmes featured by more than 40 companies and government institutions around the world.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Minister for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister of Education Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman and Mohammed Juma Al Naboodah.

He expressed his satisfaction about participation of Emirati students at this global event to demonstrate their scientific and technical innovations. He wished them more successes to attain achievements that can upgrade the education sector.

 UAE Ambassador to Cyprus sworn in before Mohammed bin Rashid

Abdulwahab Nasser Al Najjar was sworn in today as a new ambassador  of the UAE to Cyprus before Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Al Mushrif Palace.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, were present.

Sheikh Mohammad wished the envoy good luck in his mission to better develop cooperation and friendship horizons between the UAE and Cyprus for the benefit of both countries.

Among those attended the meeting were Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and other senior officials.

Mohammed receives credentials of new non-resident ambassadors

 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Wednesday received at Al Mushrif Palace copies of credentials of a number of non-resident ambassadors of friendly countries.
 
Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister attended the event.
 
Sheikh Mohammed received credentials of 15 new envoys of Cuba, Mongolia, Slovenia, Maldives, Ghana, Mali, Gabon, Kosovo, Botswana, Jamaica, Liberia, Honduras, Guatemala, Vanuatu, and Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
 
The new envoys conveyed the greetings of their leaders to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their wishes of progress, welfare and prosperity of the UAE-led by its wise leadership.
 
They also expressed hope that their appointment as nonresident ambassadors to the UAE would open avenues of new friendship and cooperation ties as well as expand diplomatic, tourism and cultural ties between their countries and the UAE.
 
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the new ambassadors and wished them good luck in bolstering cooperation and friendship ties between their countries and the UAE to boost a culture of peace and interaction with the UAE.
 
He also emphasised that the UAE, led by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is working on building bridges of communication with other countries across the world as well as economic, tourism, and cultural ties, stressing that the communication between Emiratis and other peoples 'is fundamental'. He added, "At the same time, we build strong political and trade relations with these countries to achieve common interests."
 
The Vice President affirmed that the new envoys will enjoy all the support from the UAE's competent authorities in order to facilitate their diplomatic tasks to enhance ties between the UAE and their various countries.
 
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and other senior officials.
