Mohammed visits Zayed Air Navigation Centre

UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi on details of the strategic plan prepared by GCAA to keep pace with the UAE government strategy and vision for 2021.

After the presentation, Sheikh Mohammed launched "Pilots and Aircrews Electronic Licenses" service.

He also received from GCAA's Director General, the electronic aviation license issued in his name.

Sheikh Mohammed went on to inspect the air control centre at the air navigation centre where he was briefed by the staff about the tasks of the centre.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the strategic plan of the General Civil Aviation Authority which is on a par with the federal government's strategy and vision.

He also hailed the efforts of UAE nationals who competently run the authority, saying that he relies on their capabilities in carrying out their national responsibilities and duties.

Addressing the authority's staff, Sheikh Mohammed urged employees to acquire more knowledge to cultivate their expertise in order to take leading positions and to set an example for future generations.

Before leaving, Sheikh Mohammed signed a wall plateau that includes the names of the patrons of the awareness and instructive campaign launched by the Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority for the safety and security of passengers and planes.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohammed on his visit were Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Director of Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shibani, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Director General of Government of Dubai Media Office Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Mohammed Juma Al Naboodah and a number of other senior officials.
