Sheikh Mohammed briefed on debates of Arab Knowledge Report conference

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today visited the conference on Arab Knowledge Report 2010/2011 which is organised in Dubai by the Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation in partnership with ministries of education in the UAE, Jordan, Morocco and Yemen.

Sheikh Mohammed was informed by Adel Al Shared, Managing Director and Vice-Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, on the agenda of discussion panels which took place during sessions of March 14-15 conference, the most important of them were the report on "Preparing Future Generations for the Knowledge Society" in addition to a synthesis of the results of the field research conducted in four Arab participating countries (Jordan, UAE, Morocco and Yemen).

Sheikh Mohammed praised the Foundation's leading role and tireless efforts to promoting and deepening the culture of knowledge among Arab and Muslim young generations, affirming that civilisation and progress of ''our peoples will not be achieved without knowledge culture and conducting of Arab and Islamic studies which aim at delivery of knowledge to our peoples and communities in all walks of science and life''.

MBRF said the release of the report is part of efforts to continue its mission to reinforce the Arab and national efforts to build a society and economy of knowledge as a basic source of Arab reformation and development. The vision of the report concerning the preparation of future generations for building the knowledge society is based on the correlation between the triad of skills, values and enabling.

Mohammed bin Rashid meets President of Italy's Marche Region

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum met today Gian Mario Spacca President, Marche Region, Italy.

At an audience held at the Multaqa Majlis at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Spacca briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the agenda and the programme of the joint Emirati-Italian Forum which will be held in the region.

The forum, to be held in June this year, will coincide the world endurance races to be hosted in the hilly slopes of Monte Conero overlooking the Adriatic. Sheikh Mohammed will participate in the races leading the Emirati riders.

Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansouri, who attended the meeting, said that the joint forum will represent both private and public sectors in UAE and Italy and will play a major role in developing cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, tourism and culture between the two countries.

Mohammed bin Rashid visits Wetex

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, paid a visit today to the 14th Water, Energy, & Environment Exhibition 2012 (Wetex), which concluded today.

Held under the directives by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Wetex 2012 was organised by Dewa under the umbrella of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (SCE).

Sheikh Mohammed went around various stalls at the exhibition and paused at the Dewa stall to listen to briefings on the latest technologies used by the Authority for generating power and rationalising use of water resources.

He also viewed models of various power generation plants visualised as part of the solar energy production in the emirate of Dubai under the umbrella of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Park.

Over 28 countries from around the world showcased their technologies and equipment to produce energy and water.
