Sheikh Mohammed also launched the "My work elevates my Flag" campaign" organised by Watani Programme as part of the 41st National Day anniversary celebrations. The campaign aims to blend the sense of nationhood with loyalty to the country to preserve its achievements and inculcate the concept of good citizenship. The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has endorsed the Flag Day Initiative, to be observed annually on 30th November each year by the UAE people concurrently with the anniversary of the election of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as UAE President.
The Flag Day initiative reflects respect for the flag as a symbol of sovereignty and unity. It targets students in schools and universities nationwide, including both Emiratis and expatriate students, as well as their parents and guardians.
Activities of Flag Day, themed "My work elevates my flag", will include an art show and another show for children with autism.
The Watani Programme activities will involve field visits by organisers of the programme to a number of public institutions and corporations.
Sheikh Mohammed reshuffles Board of DIAC
The Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has issued in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai Decree No. 20 for 2012, on forming the Board of Trustees of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).
The decree names Jan Paulsson as Chairman, while board members include the following: Professor Martin Hunter, Dr. Habib Mohammed Sharif Al Mulla, Dalmook Mohammed Dalmook, Sheikha Haya Rashid bin Khalifa, Dr. Kareem Hafiz, Hussein Ali Al Jazeeri, Majid Obeid bin Bashir Al Muhairi, Dr Fathi bin Mohammed Al Shazli Kemicha, Michael E. Schneider, Makhdoum Khan, Antonio Bara, Charles C. Adams Jr., Abdul Mun'em Salem bin Sweidan, Loretta Malintoppi, Wafi Vedeer, Dr. Tariq Fuad Riyadh, Dr. Dawood Khair Allah, Philip Lober Langer, Fera Farri Hota, Francisco Orego Viconia and Bernard Hanotiau.
The decree is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
