Sheikh Mohammed opens Dubai Airshow

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday inaugurated the 13th Dubai Airshow at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai World Central.

Also present during the inauguration of the five-day forum were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness cut the ribbon and then began his tour of a number of pavilions at the show.

The opening was also attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dr. Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, Abdullah Al Masaood, Chairman of the National Consultative Council (NCC), Lieutenant-General Obaid Mohammed Al Ka'abi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and His Excellency Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police and Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed and Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, along with a number Sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries and military and security leaders and senior officials.

Mohammed bin Rashid attends signing ceremony of Emirates and flydubai deals

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has attended the signing ceremony of a new deal for Emirates Airline for 150 Boeing 777X aircraft worth Dh280 billion, which was signed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group.

The deal was counter-signed by Jim McNerney, CEO of Boeing.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

During the ceremony, which was held today at the Dubai International Airshow, a further agreement to supply 111 aircraft to flydubai worth $11 billion was also signed.

The ceremony was also attended by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police and Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai and Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai's CEO, along with a number of senior officials from the civil aviation sector.

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated all on the signing of the two deals, expressing his confidence that Emirates Airline will be among the largest companies with this transaction. Sheikh Mohammed also commended the growing fleet of the flydubai company and its destinations across the world.

Mohammed bin Rashid receives King of Bahrain

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today received at the Dubai Airshow His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and his accompanying delegation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and the Bahraini King exchanged talks on a number of issues of common interest, especially with regard to the situation in the region.

His Majesty King Hamad hailed Dubai Airshow and congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed on the success of this international event, describing it as a source of pride for the UAE considering that the exhibition occupies a leading position on the map of the global aviation shows.

He also congratulated Sheikh Mohammed on the opening of the Al Maktoum International Airport for the first time.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police and Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, and Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President.

The meeting was also attended by Bahrain's His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed al-Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, and a number of officials accompanying His Majesty the King of Bahrain.

Mohammed bin Rashid receives Portuguese Defence Minister and Algerian Army Chief of Staff

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has received in his private office at the Dubai International Airshow 2013 Portugal's Minister for National Defence, Jose Pedro Aguiar-Branco, who congratulated Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the success of the Dubai International Airshow 2013 for the polarisation of international companies specialised in the civil aviation industry, military and special techniques for this vital sector. 

Also present at the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority.
The Portugal's Minister praised the excellent organisation of the Airshow, which he described as "perfect".

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also received Lieutenant-General Ahmed Gaid Salah, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA) in the Democratic People's Republic of Algeria.

During the meeting, they reviewed the march of the Dubai International Airshow which was launched 26 years ago. Lieutenant-General Ahmed Gaid Salah praised the efforts of the U.A.E. and its reputation in the exhibition industry field of all specialties and types.

Also attending the meeting were Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,  Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police and Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai and a number of senior officials.
