UAE blessed with solidarity: Mohammed

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has said that the holy month of Ramadan highlights the blessings of solidarity and forgiveness that God almighty has bestowed upon this beloved country.

During a Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, July 14, Sheikh Mohammed added that the holy month is an opportunity to boost philanthropy and the spirit of giving to benefit our fellow humans.

The meeting was held with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Cabinet approved a draft law to regulate the services provided by Haj and Umrah offices in the UAE with aims to set a unified and comprehensive system that encompasses service providers and clients.

Upon request from the Federal National Council, the Cabinet has approved to discuss the services policy provided by UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

The Cabinet also approved to issue a federal law renaming the National Centre for Documentation and Research to become the National Archive as the new title better reflects the mandate of the centre.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the restructuring of the Board of Directors of the National Statistics Centre appointing Minister of State Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi as chairperson.

Also, the Cabinet approved appointing Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing Helal Saeed Al Marri as a member of the board of the National Council of Tourism and Antiquities.

A number of agreements in the field of judicial and legal cooperation between the UAE and Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka were also approved.

Moreover, the Cabinet approved a number of cooperation agreements in the field of air transport with Senegal, Ukraine and Algeria.

An agreement with Belarus on cancelling entry visas to diplomatic passport holders was also approved with aims to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Locally, the Cabinet approved the appointment of 16 judges in a number of federal courts in the country and discussed other topics on its agenda.

Mohammed bin Zayed receives Mohammed bin Rashid

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai at Al Bateen Palace in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, July 14, evening.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The reception was also attended by Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, UAE National Security Consultant Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The gathering exchanged greetings on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan praying to God almighty to safeguard the United Arab Emirates and keep the blessings He has bestowed upon it under the wise leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Mohammed exchanged greetings on this auspicious Islamic occasion with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, ministers, members of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, senior military officials, officials from the security apparatus and officials from federal and local government entities.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan hosted an iftar banquet in honour of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum after the high-profile gathering performed Maghrib prayers at the palace.

Mohammed receives President of Maldives

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai received President Dr Mohammed Waheed Hassan of the Maldives at Al Marmoum this evening.

Sheikh Mohammed discussed with his guest means of enhancing bilateral relations in the best interest of both countries.

President Hassan praised the remarkable development the United Arab Emirates has achieved on different levels thanks to the wise leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He also praised the goal the UAE has set to guarantee prosperity to its citizens.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Director General of the Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani and Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman in addition to the Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of the Maldives Mosab Abdullah.

Mohammed visits Sheikh Zayed’s tomb

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai visited the tomb of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, July 14.

Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, prayed to God almighty to rest the soul of late Sheikh Zayed in peace.

Also accompanying Sheikh Mohammed on the visit were Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Director General of the Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of Dubai Ruler’s Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Mohammed Juma Al Naboodah and a number of officials.
