Traveller alert: give bad review to this hotel at your own risk

In a strange twist to hospitality policy, a couple have been charged by a hotel for posting bad review on a travel review website.

The couple, who were left unimpressed with their experience at a Blackpool Hotel, were fined £100, for describing the hotel as a "rotten stinking hovel", reports The Telegraph.

When they discovered that they had been charged an extra £100, they called up the hotel only to be told that the hotel had a policy of deducting money from those who gave 'bad' reviews.

However, the hotel's manager later told them that they did not have any such policy.

The unhappy hotel guests filed a complaint with the authorities, who are investigating it as they fear that the hotel might have 'breached unfair trading practice regulations', the daily reported.

The officials termed it as an "outrageous behaviour by the hotel".
