An Ethiopian housemaid wielding an axe attacked her Saudi employer just as he returned home from work, causing serious injuries to various parts of his body.
The 35-year-old man had just opened the door of his house in the central town of Zalfi when the maid jumped and hit him on the head.
As he started bleeding, he fled out but she chased him and hit him again on the hand. When he was finally at the main gate, she struck him in the shoulder but he managed to jump out of the house and scream for help.
“Passers by rushed to him and put him in a car, which took him to the hospital….doctors saved his life but he remained in the intensive care unit,” Kabar Arabic language daily said.
It said the maid, in her 20s, was arrested by police who was told by her employers that she was behaving strangely recently.
