'Infertile' woman gives birth to quintuplets

A Syrian refugee in Saudi Arabia gave birth to quintuplets after having treatment for infertility, but one of them died nearly a day after birth.

The unnamed woman, who is also suffering from diabetes, gave birth to the three girls and two boys in a 30-minute Caesarian operation at Imam Abdul Rahman Al Faisal Hospital in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

‘Sabq’ newspaper quoted Dr Fayza Al Matari, head of the gynaecology and obstetrics section, as saying one boy died 22 hours later because of lung hemorrhage, but the rest and the mother were in a good condition.
