Lenovo tries to dial into mobile market with Vibe Z

Lenovo announced it has reached the Number 3 spot in global smartphone sales and is now tryign to improve its UAE market share via Vibe Z at Gitex in Dubai.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Mohammed Hilili, General Manager for the Gulf said that there have been a lot of questions on the growth of the laptop segment. “Our performance has remained strong and we have continued to register positive growth,” said Hilili

“With XP users migrating to Windows 7 and Windows 8 we have already seen a movement upwards,” he said.

The company, a late entrant into the smartphone and tablet sector, has reached the number third spot in terms of global smartphone sales and is all set to complete the acquisition of Motorola from Google.

“We are aggressively marketing our Vibe series this Gitex,” said Hilili.

The company launched its latest flagship the Vibe Z and with its bundled offer of a free Yoga tablet for Dh1,999.

“The free Yoga tablet offer brings down the price of the smartphone to Dh1,400,” said one sales staffer at Jumbo Electronics.

Other features of the smartphone includes a 5.5” full high definition display with a pixel density of 400 pixels per inch, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad-core 2.2GHz processor, 13 MP rear camera with a large f1.8 aperture lens, 5 MP front camera, 2 GB RAM, up to 16 GB of internal storage and running Android 4.3.
