A Bangladeshi allegedly falsely reported that his wife was kidnapped after selling her to two men for sex, the Dubai Misdemeanours Court heard.

MS, 48, who is accused by Prosecution of lodging a false complaint, denied the accusation and claimed that the police misunderstood him. He also told the court that he did not have any formal connection with the woman.

An officer from Naif Police Station testified that on February 19, a man reported that his wife was kidnapped.

The police patrol found MS at about 8pm on Baqir Yousuf Road, waiting behind the Freedoni Building surrounded by people, testified the officer.

MS told the police that while he was walking with his wife a black car with two men inside, one dressed in traditional dress and another in black trousers stopped by, grabbed his wife and drove away.

While he was talking to the policemen, the man received several calls on his mobile phone. They could hear a woman’s voice, but he turned down the calls.

When they asked him about the caller, MS confessed to the policemen that the woman was his wife and that he had handed her to the men to have sex with her against money.

However, MS changed his story before the Prosecution and said the woman, a compatriot, was merely a friend and that police officers had misunderstood him.

He told Prosecutors that the woman was his friend and he was meeting her upon her request. While he was talking to her, two men arrived and took her away, so he called police and reported the incident.

ME, Afghani, a car park worker, testified that the woman had walked willingly with the men to the car which was parked nearby. But the woman was crying and begging them to let her go. She was not screaming or seeking help of nearby people.
