New Indian school opens in Dubai

Credence High School is in the Al Khail area of Dubai.

A new Indian school opened in Al Khail on Tuesday. It’s one of the eight new schools that will open in Dubai for the academic year 2014-15.

The Credence High School, sprawled over seven acres in Al Khail, was formally inaugurated by UAE Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obeid Al Qattami.

“As Dubai continues to grow, we are witnessing a rapid expansion in the number of school places across all curricula.  The Knowledge and Human Development Authority welcomes high-quality new schools to Dubai’s educational landscape,” said Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman and Director General of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

Last week, Emirates24|7 had reported that 8 new schools will open in Dubai for the 2014-15 academic year.

The KHDA said that five schools will offer British curriculum, one will be Canadian, and two will be Indian.

Apart from Credence High School, the other Indian school is Bilva Indian School. Both schools will offer 3,000 seats each.

A staffer told Emirates24|7 that the admission process was going on in full swing.
She added that the fees will be between Dh15,000-Dh21,000 per academic year.

“We have got approval for class up till grade 12, but for the first year, we have opened admissions from kindergarten to grade 6,” the official added.

The CBSE school boasts of a library, state-of-the-art IT rooms, a 5,000 square feet fully air-conditioned dance and drama hall, am indoor auditorium spread over 14,000 square feet that can accommodate 1,500 students which will also offer sports facilities like tennis, badminton etc… and an athletic-sized swimming pool.

The school’s sports facilities include a football pitch with FIFA approved artificial grass, full length cricket pitch with flood lights, international standard volleyball and a six-lane athletic track including a 100-metre dash track.
