3 foetuses found abandoned in Manila church

Three foetuses have been found in a plastic bag left behind in a ladies’ closet in a church in Metro Manila’s suburb of Novaliches.

Senior Police Officer 2 Edward Samilin, desk officer of Police Station 4 in Novaliches, Quezon City, said the foetuses were about five months old and must have been aborted days before they were left in the toilet of the chuch.

He said it was Flora Duran, a maintenance crew at the church, located at the corner of Quirino Highway and Dumala Street, in Santa Monica village, who saw the foetuses on Saturday when she was about to clean up the water closet.

The police have since been doing further investigation, as they suspect that there is an abortion clinic operating near the church.

Abortion is illegal in the Philippines.
