Help comes Bella Flores' way

From Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr to marketing genius and retailer Ben Chan and the big guns of Philippine movies, help comes to the veteran actress Bella Flores.

She may be one of the most hated actresses on the silver screen, what with her signature roles as the ultimate antagonist, but it is common knowledge how amiable, kind, and generous she is in real life.

No wonder that Revilla, an action star and son of former senator Ramon Sr, Ben Chan of Bench department stores, and seasoned actresses Gloria Romero, Boots Anson Roa and Caridad Sanchez, among others, have all given help.

The 84-year-old Flores is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, according to her only daughter, Ruby Rose Arcilla, who has been emotional lately about her mother’s deteriorating condition.

Flores has opted to stay at home, with some doctors visiting her from time to time, but now that her condition is becoming worse than everybody
had thought, her friends want to confine her to a hospital—with them footing the bill.

Arcilla, her husband Jessie and their daughter Jessica left their jobs in the United States, where they had lived for a while, and came home to the Philippines to take care of Flores.

Now talks are going around that a producer, who plans to create either a movie or a TV series based on Flores’s life, is considering getting Arcilla to play as Flores during her younger days.

Entertainment insiders say that Arcilla, a spitting image of her mum, is excited about the prospects of becoming an actress, as she has no more plans of going back to the US. She is also looking for work, as she doesn’t want to depend solely on the friends of her mother’s.
