Related T-Mobile to Exempt Pokemon Go from Data Charges

Pokemon Go first launched in the U.S., New Zealand and Australia two weeks ago. Niantic originally planned to roll out the game across many more countries in a few days, but was forced to slightly slow down the release due to overwhelming demand. Las week, Niantic Labs already launched the game in Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The augmented reality game has quickly become one of the most popular mobile games of all time. In fact, in the U.S., the game is already more popular than Draw Something or Candy Crush during their heydays, according to data from Surveymonkey.

The game's unprecedented popularity hasn't come without hiccups. Many users were reporting log-in problems over the weekend. Niantic Labs acknowledged server issues on Twitter, but said late Saturday that those issues had been resolved. However, the influx of new users may not be the only reason for these outages. Hacking group Ourmine claimed responsibility for taking down the game's log-in servers on Sunday.
