The eight-year-old girl, Anushree Kumar, who was killed by her parents before they committed suicide due to deep financial problems, was forced to drop out of school since April.

School authorities, who had no idea about the family’s ordeal, were shocked when they realised that the girl killed in the incident was one of their students, Khaleej Times reported.

The school officials informed that the girl was released from the school in April after her parent’s requested for a transfer, saying that the family was moving back to India.

The decomposed bodies of the girl along with her parents Anil Kumar, 44, and Sreeja, 31, who was in her eighth month of pregnancy, were found hanging in their rented villa in Ras Al Khaimah on Friday.

According to the forensic report, the death took place on August 29. The Indian School Ras Al Khaimah, where Anushree studied, held a silent prayer for the family on Tuesday, when the school reopened after the summer vacation.

“We also held a staff meeting to condole their tragic death. All of us are shocked. We are sure that we could have helped the child to continue her studies and we could have done something to help the family with the support of the management and the Indian Association members. But we had no idea about their problems,” Susan Ninan, the vice-principal of the school, said.

“There are many families who go back when the academic year begins.

Also, some children take long leave because of their mother’s maternity matters,” she said. There was nothing unconvincing about what the parents said, she added.
