19 killed on Omani roads in one week

Road accidents killed 19 people and injured 222 others in Oman last week as a result of reckless driving and other violations, newspapers said on Sunday.

Citing a traffic police report, they said six were killed in the country’s eastern region while five deaths were in the central region, four in Dahira area, three in Batina and one in Muscat province.

The report said the casualties were a result of nearly 150 road mishaps through the Gulf country.
