Saudi Police have launched a massive operation in search of a little girl abducted from a medical centre while she was with her family.

Police said the operation covers many areas but denied that they had found the child after a film posted on local social networks showed a security man carrying a little girl.

Newspapers quoted police in the capital Riyadh and the child’s relatives as saying the girl posted in the film was not the abducted one.

On Monday, relatives of Jouri Al Khaldi, aged 2.5 years, announced a cash reward of SR1 million (Dh1m) for information leading to her whereabouts.

Jouri was with her family at a medical centre in Riyadh on Friday when she suddenly disappeared. Security cameras showed a man was talking to her before he took her out.

A staff member at the centre said she saw her getting into the man’s car, apparently thinking he is her father.

‘Sada’ newspaper on Tuesday quoted her grandfather as saying he received a number of phone calls saying they had seen his granddaughter in the central province of Al Qasseem. Others told him they saw her in the Eastern region, he said adding that none of the reports was verified.
