48 people bitten by dogs in Riyadh

Dogs attacked 48 people in the Saudi capital Riyadh in two months while 26 others suffered from cat scratches, according to a local newspaper.

Sabq, quoting hospital figures, said 21 of those bitten by dogs and scratched by cats were Saudis while the rest were expatriates.

It said some of those attacked by dogs were admitted to hospital while the others were treated and discharged on the same day.

Saudi Arabia has a population of around 31 million, including nearly 10 million Asians and other foreigners.
