5-month rape ordeal by dad leaves girl pregnant

A Saudi mother who took her teenaged daughter to hospital after noticing she was not feeling well, was shocked to learn she was pregnant.

She nearly collapsed when her daughter said her father had raped her for five months.

Still in a state of a shock, the mother from the western town of Makkah dragged her 16-year-old daughter straight to the police and asked her to report her father.

“The girl told the police that her father had forced her to sleep with him for nearly five months….she said that he used to wait for her mother to go out shopping to rape her,” Kabar Arabic language daily said.

Police arrested the unnamed father, in his 40s, and are awaiting hospital test results to verify the girl’s claims, the paper said.

It did not make clear what would happen to the baby as abortion in the conservative Gulf Kingdom is banned.
