Hundreds of Muslims packed a mosque in Jordan on Friday for open air prayers and to listen for the first time to a new preacher - a nine-year-old boy.

Islamic authorities in the Arab kingdom agreed to let Anas Al Shatti preach for the first time during Friday’s prayers after spending many years to memorize the whole Quran.

Newspapers said Anas appeared confident and composed as he climbed the podium at Al Ibrahimi Mosque in the capital Amman for the first time, adding that his sermon focused on the need for children to be good to their parents.
