Alcoholic dad held for molesting daughter

Saudi Arabia’s Islamic police arrested a drunk local man for letting his daughter drive his car while he takes some of her clothes off and molests her, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

A patrol of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the most feared law enforcement group in the Gulf Kingdom, spotted the Saudi girl driving through the streets just outside the capital Riyadh while a man was set next to her, S'harq' online Arabic language paper said.

The girl, a university student, stopped the car, stepped out and ran away before she was seized by the Commission members.

“They noticed that the girl has much cosmetics on her face and was wearing indecent clothes without her gown…when they looked into the car, they saw that the man was heavily drunk and found a liquor bottle inside,” the paper said.

“During investigation, the girl unveiled a shocking fact…she told investigators that she lives with her mother after her father divorced her and that the father comes to take her once a week…she said that he drives outside the city and then let her drive the car after asking her to take her gown and some other clothes off.’

Sharq said the unnamed girl admitted that her father is alcoholic and that she had been unable to report him to the police or to her mother because she was scared of him.

“The girl told police that after he gets drunk, he starts molesting her…she said that she is a victim of an alcoholic father who is rarely sober and is sex crazy.”

The paper said the father, who was not identified, would stand trial on molestation, drunkenness and other charges while the girl was handed back to her mother.
