Camel rescued after falling in sewage pit in Saudi

Saudi civil defence men used a giant crane to lift a camel which fell into an uncovered sewage pit while pasturing near a park in the Gulf kingdom.

Scores of people used ropes to pluck out the four-year-old camel but failed, prompting owners to call the civil defence in the eastern province of Ihsa.

“Civil defence units managed to pull the camel out of the pit in around 20 minutes,” the Arabic language daily Al Ihsa said.
