A Saudi court has sentenced a local man for seven years in jail and 2,100 lashes for stealing a car and drunk driving, a local daily reported on Thursday.
The man, in his 40s, snatched the car in the capital Riyadh and was captured a few days later in the southwestern town of Asir, Okaz said.
“The court found that he already had a police record involving 11 previous crimes…it sentenced him to seven years in prison and ordered him lashed 2,100 times with the whip,” the paper said.
