Child accidentally killed by dad’s gun

A five-year-old Saudi boy died after he accidentally shot himself by his father’s gun while playing with loaded weapon at their home in the Gulf Kingdom.

His parents and other members of the family were busy preparing suhoor (Ramadan dawn meal) when the boy went into his father’s room and took the gun out of the drawer, the Arabic language daily Alwatan said.

“The boy started playing with the gun and it went off as it was loaded…he was rushed to hospital but died three hours later,” it said in a report from the northern town of Tabuk.
