Child saved after swallowing bottle cap

A Saudi airlines employee saved the life of a little boy who swallowed a beverage bottle lid by accident but he refused to be rewarded by the child's father.

Shaher Al Jahni has just finished his shift and walked through the terminal at Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Airport in the Northwestern Saudi town of Tabuk on Saturday when he heard screams by the child’s parents, Makkah newspaper said.

"Jahni, who has attended a first aid course before joining the airlines, managed to get the lid out of the child’s throat by pressing on his lungs," the paper said.

"The child’s father thanked Jahni and offered him SR15,000 (Dh15,00) but he refused to take it on the grounds he only did his duty and wants to be rewarded only by God."
