A Saudi man rushed to school after he was told his little daughter had an accident and he should take her to hospital. When the school guard checked his identity at the gate, he handed him his daughter’s chopped finger wrapped in a piece of cloth.

The shocked father hurried inside, carried his injured daughter to the car and rushed to the nearby hospital. But it was too late.
“Doctors told him they can not put the finger back in its place as he was late in coming to the hospital after the accident,” Sharq Arabic language daily reported from the western town of Taif.

The paper said the father, Nayef Otaibi, filed a complaint to police and the education ministry against the school for negligence.

He told police that his daughter’s finger could have been saved if the school phoned the ambulance after a steel door locked on her hand.
“They phoned me instead of calling an ambulance and rushing her to hospital….my daughter’s finger could have been saved,” he said.
