Dad held for systematic torture of kids

Saudi police arrested a local man for systematically beating and torturing his children after a film showing bruises on the kids’ bodies went viral on social media.

Police raided the man’s house in the Southern Baha town and arrested him following calls by activists to prosecute the father, who divorced his wife and married another woman, according to Sada newspaper.

One child filmed the father while torturing his brothers and sisters and gave the film to neighbors, who publicized it, it said.

“The film and pictures showed bruises on various parts of the bodies of the man’s children…they told police that he had beaten up  and tortured them regularly,” the paper said without mentioning how many children the man has or their ages.
