Dad tortures kids to 'make them men'

A Yemeni father in his 40s was arrested in Saudi Arabia for torturing his two little sons by systematically lashing them with a plastic pipe to teach them how to be men.

The two children, aged 11 and 8, also said their father in the Western town of Makkah had allowed them to have only meal a day to teach them how to be patient.

Police arrested the father after they told the head of their school that the bruises on their hands and bodies were a result of beating with a plastic pipe by their father.

“They said he had beaten them many times because they wanted to visit their mother, who is divorced from their father,” ‘Sabq’ newspaper said.

“They told police that their father’s new wife tried to protect them but he threatened she could have the same fate.”

The paper said a judge who was told about the incident ordered the police to hand the two boys over to their mother until the case is settled in court.
