Dead stowaway on Emirates cargo flight

Emirates has confirmed that a body of a stowaway was found on one of its freighter aircraft on Saturday.

The stowaway was found on an Emirates cargo flight that landed in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on September 12. The aircraft had arrived from Nairobi.

Emirates confirmed the incident, with the airline stating: “Emirates can confirm that on 12 September, a body was found on Emirates’ freighter aircraft in Amsterdam which had arrived from Nairobi.

“The matter is currently with the authorities in Amsterdam and we are unable to comment further at this time.”

According to news reports, citing Dutch authorities, the body of the stowaway was discovered in the landing gear of a Boeing 777-200 freighter aircraft.

Dutch military police spokesman Dennis Muller stated the body was discovered on Saturday morning and the military police at Schiphol are investigating the matter.
