A Saudi man is planning to sue a local doctor for failing to diagnose a fracture in his son’s leg after he fell down during exercises at school.
The doctor at a medical central in the western town of Taif told the 15-year-old boy that he was only suffering from a simple trauma in his leg and prescribed him some pain killers, Sabq Arabic language daily said.
A few weeks later, the boy started to suffer from severe pain in his leg and had to use a stock to walk, the paper said.
His father took him back to the medical centre, where he had an X-ray but the doctor still failed to diagnose a fracture.
“His father then took him to a hospital in the city…a new X-ray there showed the boy was suffering from a fracture in his leg,” the paper said.
“Doctors said it would take time for him to recover as the fracture had been left untreated for a long time…his father said he would not remain silent towards this serious mistake by the doctor at the medical centre.”
