A Saudi court ordered an expatriate driver to pay the value of 12 camels to a local man who he had run-over and caused severe injuries.

A medical report presented to the court in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah showed that the victim suffered from scalp rupture, face deformity, vein bleeding and hand wounds, the Arabic language daily Sada said.

“The court ordered the driver to pay four camels with a value of SR12,000 (Dh12,000) for the scalp rupture, three camels for SR9,000 (Dh9,000) for vein bleeding, and the rest with a value of SR36,000 (Dh36,000) for face deformity and hand wounds,” the paper said.
