Expat gets death sentence for kidnap

A Kuwaiti court sentenced an expatriate man to death after he was found guilty of using violence to abduct a Kuwaiti man.

The prosecutor had demanded the death penalty for the defendant on charges of kidnapping the Kuwaiti, locking him up in an apartment, beating him up and sealing his month, according to the Kuwaiti daily Al Watan.

Under Kuwaiti’s laws, the unnamed man can appeal the sentence, which the paper described as the maximum penalty decided by the court on such charges.
