Fireworks kill child in Saudi

A little Saudi boy died after fireworks exploded in his hand and caused internal bleeding in his skull at his home in the Gulf kingdom.

Police said the child, identified as Rawaf, was rushed to hospital but doctors could not save his life after he suffered from skull fractures and hemorrhage.

Newspapers in the Gulf kingdom said the fireworks also partly damaged the boy’s house in the southern Saudi province of Jazan after he caught fire.
 

Maid ends life in Saudi

An Ethiopian housemaid committed suicide by hanging herself at her employer’s house in the Gulf kingdom, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

Family members found the maid hanging in her room in the morning and called the police, who took the body for the coroner to determine the cause of the death.

Ajel daily quoted a police spokesman in the northwestern Tabarjal town as saying the maid, in her 20s, had committed suicide and that police are investigating her motives.
