Food poisoning at company party in Dubai

Twelve people were admitted to hospital in Dubai after suffering from food poisoning at a company party on a floating restaurant and tests showed a hotel which supplied cake was responsible, according to police.

The men and women were taken to various hospitals in the emirate a few hours after the party suffering from fever, diarrhea, and vomiting and stomach pain.

Tests later showed a cake supplied by a local hotel caused the poisoning as it was made of bad egg which was not properly stored at the hotel.

Newspapers said police arrested the restaurant and hotel managers as well as a cook at the hotel on charges of negligence that caused food poisoning.
