Hypnotist turns out would-be rapist

An ill Arab woman went to a hypnotist for treatment in Kuwait but was shocked when she found that he was about to rape her just seconds after she woke up.

The woman told police that she was told about the Arab hypnotist by a friend and went to his apartment for treatment.

“She said that she started to fall asleep in his room…she said she then woke up to find that he was about to rape her before she screamed and fled the flat,” the Arabic language daily Al Anba said, adding that the would-be rapist was summoned by the police for interrogation.

A Yemeni man was accused of raping a 14-year-old school girl for three days before dumping her in the street in the Arab country, newspapers reported on Tuesday.

Police arrested the 25-year-old shop keeper but released him on the next day for lack of evidence, they said, adding that the prosecutor is a relative of the defendant.

“The prosecutor also accused the girl of having sex with other men and that she fabricated her rape to cover up for her relationships,” a security source said.

Newspapers said the prosecutor’s decision triggered protests in the southwestern Yemeni town of Taizz to press for trial of the rapist.
