Kid returns Dh13,000 to owner, refuses reward

A Saudi boy who found SR13,000 (Dh13,000) on the road returned the money to its owner and refused to be rewarded, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

Majdi Al Rayani, 10, was riding his bicycle near his house in the southern Jazan province when he saw the man’s purse, which also contained personal documents.

Mohammed told his father, who phoned the police and went with his son to return the money to its owner at the police station.

“The man could hardly believe his eyes when he saw the money returning to him…he deeply thanked Majdi and decided to give him some money as a reward…but the boy refused to take it, saying what he has done was his duty,” Sabq daily said.
