Kuwait seizes 37,000 alcohol bottles

Kuwait has seized nearly 37,000 liquor bottles in the biggest operation against illegal smuggling of alcoholic drinks, 'Alanba' daily reported on Tuesday.

Police and customs authorities busted the liquor bottles, which were concealed inside large ceramic containers at the emirate’s Shuwabia port.

“It was the largest quantity of alcoholic drinks to be seized in Kuwait’s history. Police have arrested two Kuwaiti nationals believed to be involved in the smuggling,” the newspaper said, adding the seized bottles are worth about KD2.5 million (Dh30m).
