Kuwait to build 19 new petrol stations

State refiner Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is planning to construct 19 new petrol stations within plans to add 100 pumps in the Gulf nation, a Kuwaiti newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Engineering designs for the new 19 pumps have been completed and KNPC will soon invite bids for the project, the Arabic language daily Al-Seyassah said.

“KNPC is now waiting for approval from the municipality to begin constructing the 19 petrol stations,” the paper said, citing KNPC sources.

It said the project to build those pumps would be completed with 1.5-2 years, adding that it is part of a plan to add 100 petrol stations to face growing demand.

The report said 26 stations would be commissioned in early 2018 while 74 pumps would be constructed at a later stage.
