Kuwait deported five men from other Gulf states after they were found guilty of harassing women in public places, in line with a new law with stricter punishment for such offences, according to a local newspaper.

The five men will be banned from entering Kuwait again after their names were blacklisted at the airport and all other outlets in the oil-rich Gulf emirate, the Arabic language daily Al Rai said.

Four other men, including three from the GCC and one from another Arab country, will be deported next week after they were convicted in the same offences.

“The decision to deport those people was in line with a new law that includes the deportation of any foreigner caught harassing women,” it said.
